Communication Server 14
Auch wenn die meisten Informationen über die nächste OCS-Version (nach OCS 2007 R2) noch NDA sind, so sammle ich hier die Informationen, die verschiedene andere Webseiten veröffentlicht haben. Selbst Microsoft lässt ja die ein oder andere Information schon heraus bzw. bloggt darüber:
Informationen, die ich über meine MVP und TAP-Kontakte habe, darf ich leider aufgrund eines NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) noch nicht veröffentlichen. In Projekten kann ich natürlich darauf Rücksicht nehmen und aktuelle Installationen und Budgetplanungen entsprechend darauf abstimmen.
Neuerungen beim Client
Installieren Sie sich einfach mal Office 2010 als Beta oder RTM und sie werden an einigen Stellen schon sehen, wie der neue OCS-Client aussehen wird.

Neuerungen bei Voice
Ein paar neue Features wurden auf der VoiceCon vorgestellt, z.B.
- "Richtige Telefone"
Diverse Anbieter von Hardware werden mit dem Start von CS14 eine ganze Reihe von Telefonen mit Ethernet-Anschluss bereit stellen. Lassen Sie sich überraschen. - Enhanced 9-1-1
Eher ein Thema in den USA, wo die Notrufzentralen von den Telefongesellschaften auch den Standort des Telefons erfahren. Das ist bei VoIP nicht so einfach - Call Admission Control
- Call Park
Endlich kann man Telefonate auch "Parken" und an anderer Stelle wieder aufnehmen. Sehr nütztlich, wenn man an verschiedenen Geräten angemeldet ist und das Gerät wechselt - Malicious Call Trace
Ob sich dahinter die "Fangschaltung" verbirgt ? - 3rd party Survivable Branch Appliances
Hier sind Ferrari und andere Hersteller ganz aktiv. Es wird Gateway geben, die auch ohne Verbindung zu OCS den Clients zumindest eine "Notfunktion" erlauben, z.B.: Telefonische Erreichbarkeit und Anrufen, wenn gleich dann wohl kein Status oder Konferenzfunktionen etc. möglich sind. Aber gerade für den deutschen Mittelstand ist das sehr interessant, wenn man mit einem einfachen Server und einem passenden Gateway eine bessere Verfügbarkeit bereit stellen kann, ohne gleich zu "Clustern".
Neuerungen beim Server
Auch bei den OCS-Rollen verändert sich einiges, um OCS auch für die nächsten Jahre "fit" zu machen. Hier nur ein paar Auszüge:
- Mediation-Server ist nicht mehr separat
Bislang mussten Sie für die Anbindung an eine Telefonanlage nicht nur ein Gateway sondern auch noch einen Server bereitstellen, welcher zwischen RTSP und G711 umgesetzt hat. Diese separate Funktion wird nun in den Standard/Frontend-Server mit addiert. - Konfiguration in SQL statt AD
Während in OCS2007 R2 und älter die eigentliche Konfiguration der Umgebung in dem Active Directory abgespeichert wurde, ist die mit CS14 nun ein "Konfiguration Store", welcher einen Master hat, der auf alle anderen Server repliziert wird. - Powershell und Silverlight
Wie nicht anders zu erwarten wird CS14 über die Powershell oder Browser verwaltet werden. Die bisher gekannten MMCs etc. entfallen. - Communications Server "14" SIP Trunking with the
