OCS Updates
Auch für den Office Communication Server gibt es immer mal wieder Update, die sich per Windows Update oder den RTCBPA ermitteln lassen. Es reicht in der Regel die aktuelle Version zu installieren.

Anscheinend wird der KB-Artikel 968802 immer wieder
auf die aktuelle Version umgeschrieben.

Update 26. Aug 2010: KB2028888 auf Version 3.5.6907.206
Wer regelmäßig seinen PC nach Windows Updates, bzw. Microsoft Updates suchen lässt. hat am 26. Aug 2010 ein Update für den Office Communicator erhalten, welches im KB2028888 beschrieben ist.

Zusätzlich gibt es noch Update für den Server und das Outlok AddIn, welche installiert werden sollten aber meist schon installiert sind.

Seltsamerweise ist das Update auf JULI benannt, der KB-Artikel aber vom 6. August und mein Communicator war schon auf 3.5.6907.196. Nach dem Update zierte aber die Version 3.5.6907.206 meinen Communicator. Die "communicator.exe" ist aber vom 30.6 und wurde am 1.7.2010 digital signiert. Ich kann mir erst mal nicht so richtig einen Reim darauf machen. Update war aber problemlos und lief nach einem Programmneustart sofort weiter.
Update 22. Jul 2010 OCS2007 R2 CU6
Ein neues "Cumulatives Update" für OCS2007 R2 ist Ende Juli erschienen und kann auf auf allen Server installiert werden.
Achtung
Dieses Update erfordert ein Update der SQL-Datenbank auf dem Backend,
welches NICHT Bestandteil des CU6 ist. Sie müssen also VORHER unbedingt
die Datenbank aktualisieren, ehe Sie CU6 installieren. Leider warnt sie
CU6 nicht vor einer alten Datenbankversion. Nach dem Update kann aber
der Frontend Server nicht mehr starten

Update zu 974571 CryptoAPI - OSCASNFIX
Das Update 974571 (CryptoAPI) führt auf einigen Systemen dazu, das OCS-Server nicht mehr starten oder aktiviert werden können und manche Clients sich nicht mehr anmelden. Auch andere Komponenten wie Zertifikatdienste mit Smartcards oder USMT sind von dem Update betroffen.
Die Lösung besteht darin, ein Update auf dem System vor oder nach der Installation des Hotfix zu installieren, welche die DLLs "msasn1.dll" und "wmsasn1.dll" aktualisiert.

Update 15. Apr 2010 OCS2007 R2 CU5
Zuerst habe ich es Windows Update auf meinem Client gesehen, das es für den Office Communicator ein Update gibt

Und kurz darauf haben sich auch die verschiedenen OCS-Server, die ich betreibe (insgesamt 7, siehe auch UC Voice Spezialisten) das ein oder andere update angemahnt, die Sie natürlich auch manuell herunter laden können:

Die Liste ist in gewisser Hinsicht "doppelt", da sie sowohl die einzelnen Updates der Komponenten als auch einen "ServerUpdateInstaller" mit 57 MB enthält, welcher alle Module in einer Sammlung beinhaltet. Der Download dieser einen Datei und der Start der selbigen ist auf jedem OCS-Server vollkommen ausreichend. Der Installer packt die einzelnen Komponenten aus und zeigt vorher an, welche Komponenten aktualisiert werden müssen, ehe dann die Installation alle fehlenden Updates einspielt. Zu den einzelnen Updates gibt es natürlich auch die passenden KB-Artikel.

Neu ist seit November 2009, dass Sie die Updates alle einzeln herunterladen können, aber dass es mittlerweile auch einen "ServerUpdateInstaller" mit 54 MB gibt, welcher alle Updates enthält und anzeigt, welche der Updates aus dem Paket noch installiert werden müssen.
